The UST Alumni Association, Inc. (USTAAI) in partnership with Caleruega Philippines held a medical mission on August 13, 2023 at the Veritas Hall, Caleruega, Nasugbu, Batangas.
Over 330 patients received free medical consultations, and procedures courtesy of UST Medical Alumni Association, Inc., UST Nursing Alumni Association, Inc., UST Pharmacy Alumni Association and Scholarship Foundation, Inc., Friends for the Love of Service, and Swabheels Diagnostics and Medical Services. Among the medical services offered were Family Medicine, Pediatrics, OB-GYNE, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, minor surgeries and dental services. A free shuttle service was provided to the residents of Nasugbu for transportation assistance. Various alumni associations as well as corporations such as Unilab and Globe Telecom also donated hygiene kits, medicines and financial aid.
More than 60 volunteers joined the medical mission which consists of doctors, dentists, nurses, pharmacists, medical students, and volunteers. The activity was then concluded with a Thanksgiving Mass presided by Rev. Fr. Winston Ferdinand Roman F. Cabading, O.P., SThL.
The Caleruega
Philippines plans to conduct another medical mission in 2024. They aim to
organize this project annually and look forward to working with more Thomasian
volunteers, benefactors, friends, and sponsors for years to come.
