By Office of Alumni Relations 16-Dec-2020
On the 20th of July 2020, the Office of Alumni Relations launched the Tomasino Throwback Thursday to make up for all the canceled homecomings and reunions of the jubilarians. The activity aims to be a small virtual space on the internet where the alumni can recount their best time in the university and walk down memory lane with a chance to win exciting prizes when they participate.
If an alumna wants to join the raffle, there are a few
mechanics to be followed.
Three challenges were posted for the span of 5 months. Many of the alumni have joined three challenges to have more chances of winning.
For the Month 1 challenge released on July 30, the alumni were asked to share their best UST memory/story. Three alumni were able to share amazing stories and won UST Umbrellas on September 1, 2020.
Here are their winning entries:
For Month 2, the alumni were challenged to post and share with the community their best UST Throwback Photo. 9 alumni were able to get their hands on UST Duffel Bags and Limited Edition Thomasian Alumni Card. Winners were announced on November 9, 2020.

Caption for first and second photo: The impressive rendition of the song plus the nice choreography had subsequently given this group (after winning the UST Engineering Songfest in December 1980) the opportunity to represent the College of Engineering in the University-wide annual song festival in 1981. Thus, it paved the way to the birth of the UST Engineering One Voice, and still existent, & currently the Official Student Singing Group of the Faculty of Engineering which will celebrate its 40th founding anniversary in 2021.

The first two challenges were dedicated to the graduates of 1990s and earlier. However, recent graduates still joined to share their experiences and photos in the Facebook thread. Some alumni even tagged their friends to start a conversation and reminisce about the exact moments the photos were taken. Reliving memories didn?t stop as OAR released another challenge for the month of December.
The Month 3 Tomasino Throwback Thursday was tied up with OAR?s annual Thomasian Alumni Giveaway every Christmas season. For the last question, the alumni were challenged to share their best throwback Paskuhan Photo. 4 alumni won UST Umbrella and Duffel Bag while another 2 were able to get their hands on the Limited Edition of Thomasian Alumni Card and Duffel Bag for the minor prizes.

magical world. This depiction tells us that no amount of darkness can dispel
the light of Christ as seen in the main building cross - tuloy parin ang pasko.

2017) We call our evening strolls on Saturdays around the university ?paseo?.
This paskuhan paseo was likewise worth-remembering since we walked around with
our seminary formators namely Fr. Jannel, Fr. Deng, and Fr. Jun Bolo, OP.
(Lower

spent with the ones you consider as a family. This is my second family at the
Central Seminary- four of whom are my classmates and one at the extreme right
is our brother, now Fr. Jay of the Diocese of Balanga.
(Lower

me are brothers Bino and Ariel whose diaconal ordination will be this month.
What a gift!
Salamat UST, Salamat sa Liwanag ng Diyos!
Caption: Junior year and last Paskuhan na complete attendance at magkakasama ang barkada we were seperated the next year, as some pursued for major in clinical pharmacy and now, we are all registered pharmacists and most heed the calling on the field of medicine. Will always wish we can attend Paskuhans again as professionals despite our busy scheds and hindi na sila drawing this time(Paskuhan, 2015)
Caption: Last Paskuhan before graduation and board exams and my toughest year in UST. Ang daming heartbreaks and breakdowns, together with acads and thesis. But this year also paved way for friendships and learning to stand on my own. This year I attended Paskuhan by myself. I know Paskuhan is time to be with friends but I believed that year I deserved self-love. Being alone is never lonely, it gave me a chance to be independent and cherish beauty and silence around me. And despite the hardships that year gave me, in the end UST will always offer its light to those who wander in the dark. (Paskuhan, 2016)

Mikhaela DayritCaption: There is a Paskuhan in UST every year, but there is never the same Paskuhan twice.
2012 spent with new
found peers,
And the boy I came
to love for years
2013 a deadly
typhoon dropped by,
But Paskuhan brought
spirits up high
2014 squeezed tight
into the crowd,
Jumping and singing
to bands out loud
2015 it rained and
poured at night,
Still we enjoyed the
dazzling lights
2016 had a trip to
the beach and really ran,
Just making it on
time when fireworks began
2017 spent eating
lots of good food,
Fireworks and music
puts us in a mood
2018 he had med
school removals you see,
With reviewers he
still came with me
2019 yay a free day
with no hospital duty yet
Spent on a Paskuhan
I'd never forget
8 years in UST has
come and gone
All with Paskuhan
memories full of fun
Our academic days
may finally be done
But the rest of life has just begun
And so I say, thank
you UST!
Thank you for the
best Paskuhan memories!!!
