Tomasinong SOCCSKSARGEN, the regional chapter alumni association of Thomasians in South Central Mindanao, inducted new officers and members on April 10, 2024 at the Rosewood Place, General Santos City.

Present in the event was UST Rector Very Rev. Fr. Richard G. Ang, O.P, PhD as the guest-of-honor and inducting officer.

The following are the officers inducted during the ceremony.

Fr. Ang congratulated the group for a successful turnover. He said, "It [the Tomasinong SOCCSKSARGEN] is one of the most close-knit, dynamic, active, warm and welcoming groups around the world of Thomasian alumni." These attributes of the association led to the success of projects progressing to the establishment and inauguration of the UST General Santos.

Newly inducted SOCCSKARGEN alumni association president Ar. Antonio Villanueva, Jr. lauded the chapter's former head, Ms. Ma. Carmela Royeca, for her efforts and contributions in the past years. He promised the Rector his group's commitment to the GenSan campus.

"We are going to be your partner in promoting UST and any projects na makakatulong yung Tomasinong SOCCSKSARGEN."

He reiterated the association's purpose which is, "Charity born out of gratitude". They will continue to contribute to the university's mission and vision through volunteerism, marketing efforts, and network building.

For his term as president, Ar. Villanueva aims to organize more charity works and fundraisers for their chosen beneficiaries.
