With the theme “Balikan ang Saya, sa Eduk Tara na!”, the UST College of Education alumni reminisce and rekindle their college days during the Grand Alumni Homecoming at the Dr. Robert C. Sy Grand Ballroom of the Buenaventura Garcia Paredes, O.P. Building Thomasian Alumni Center last July 18, 2015.
The event kicked off with a Thanksgiving Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Franklin F. Beltran, O.P. and concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Romulo V. Rodriguez, O.P., former regents of the college. This was followed by a program that included raffles, trivia question and answer portions, singing contest, community dancing, and a throwback AVP presentation. The graduates of Bachelor of Science in Education (BSE) , Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED), Bachelor of Science in Food Service (BS Food Service), Bachelor of Science in Tourism (BS Tourism), Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management (BSHRM), Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics (BSND), Bachelor of Science in Food Technology (BSFT), Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Secondary Education (AB/BSE), and Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) filled the night with entertainment, nostalgia, dancing, and bonding activities.
The event was highlighted by an inspirational message from Asst. Prof. Fides Maria Lourdes F. Carlos, Director of the Office of Alumni Relations (OAR); awarding of the jubilarians from Batches 1960, 1964, 1965, 1969, 1970, 1984, 1985, 1989, 1990; and, the turnover of the donation to the College of Education Alumni Association. The hosts of this year’s alumni homecoming, Batch 1989 and 1990 headed by Assoc. Prof. Marielyn Quintana, paid tribute to their former professors, deans, and regents with the awarding of tokens of appreciation and a special song number. Hazel Vera D. Tan, RN
