Having the right level of confidence will lead to a better work performance. Your boss, surely, does not want to see you lacking in self-confidence neither does he wants to see you being overconfident.

So, here are some tips to help you boost your self-esteem and have enough confidence to make you an asset of your company.

 

1. Constantly tell yourself “positive affirmations”

Speak to yourself positively by using phrases such as: “I like myself,” “I can do it,” “I feel terrific,” “I am responsible,” etc. Studies show that 95 percent of your emotions are determined by the way you talk to yourself.

Deliberately and consciously talking to yourself in a positive and constructive way will veer you away from thinking about things that make you unhappy or cause worry and anxiety.

 

2. Visualize yourself achieving your goals

You become more determined to do what needs to be done when you visualize and see your goals already accomplished.

Creating a clear and exciting picture of your ideal life and replaying it in your mind over and over will keep you focused and enthusiastic. As you “see” yourself on the inside, you will “be” on the outside.

 

3. Keep positive people around you

Your choices of peers with whom you live and work will have huge impact on your emotions and your success. Associate yourself with goal-oriented and optimistic people, who are going somewhere with their lives.

You do not need company who will drag you down with their negativity and poor outlook in life. Negative people are the primary source of other’s despair.

 

4. Feed your mind with the proper “mental food”

Your mind constantly needs positive reinforcements. Reading books, magazines and articles that are educational, inspirational and motivational will keep your mind at its best capacity.

Feed your mind with information and ideas that are uplifting. Don’t let a day pass without learning something new.

 

5. Listen to the right music

Do not flood your playlist with sad and depressing songs. You mood also depends on the type of music you listen to.

When you are stuck on traffic or getting bored during office hours, play some upbeat tunes to relieve you from stress, and to keep you relaxed and excited.

 

6. Do not linger on negative memories

All of the people who are at the top today were once at the bottom. All of them experienced defeats, mistakes and sadness. However, they were able to handle life’s difficulty by easily getting over these negative memories and by being focused on pushing themselves forward.

When you dedicate yourself to learning and growing to become better—in your thoughts and actions—you take complete control of your life and dramatically increase the speed at which you move upward to greater heights.

 

7. Always expect a positive outcome

Only you can drag yourself down. Your expectations become your own self-fulfilling prophesies. Whatever you expect, with confidence, seems to come into your life.

You should always expect the best and for things to go on your way rather than envisioning yourself failing or not being able to accomplish what you aimed for. When you “think” great, you will definitely “do” great!
